Player Profiles

Peter Harrison

2015-16 senior scrumhalf, and club president, Peter Harrison. Peter is original from Port Angeles, WA and is currently studying Chemical Engineering. Peter has played rugby for the past eight years after hearing about it at his high school, St. Michael’s University, a bordering school in Victoria, BC. One of his favorite rugby memories came when he scored the winning try against SMU’s rival team, Oak Bay, in the BC AAA Provincial Quarterfinals. Since Peter’s arrival at UW he has consistently been a positive impact both on and off the pitch. We as a club are sad to be losing Peter next year but are excited to see what the future holds for him. As usual, here are some questions to get to know Peter:

Peter Harrison

Kincaid Crile

Kincaid is a business major from Portland, Oregon who has been playing rugby for the past 3 years. He started playing rugby after his father, a Husky RFC Alum, encouraged him to try it in high school. So far his favorite rugby memory came when he won the Oregon State Rugby Championship by 2 points in his senior year, after tackling a "300 pounder like 8 straight time.” Here are some more questions to better get to know our impact freshman Kincaid Crile:

Nate Lungstrom

Heading into the championship this weekend we will dive into the life of starting prop Nate “Soggy Bottom” Lungstrom. Soggy was born in Spokane weighing 20 pounds with a bench press of 210 lbs. Nate is studying physiology with a minor in chemistry, when he is not busy lifting weight or eating. He has been playing rugby since he came to UW in 2013. Nate started to play because he yearned for the ability to hit people after playing 4 years of high school football. Lets get to know Soggy on a more personal level:

Nate Lungstrom

Josh Rayburn

2015-16 captain Josh Rayburn.  Josh is a senior from Puyallup, WA, majoring in Physiology and minoring in nutritional science, while on the Pre-Med track. He has 10 years of rugby experience. He started playing rugby because his four older brothers played. So far his favorite rugby memory is when he got to play with his older brother, but knows that winning this years NCRC Championship will be a better feeling. Josh Rayburn

Jack Stimson

Jack is a senior majoring in psychology hoping to find a career in sports psychology. He started playing rugby 7 years ago in his hometown of Chicago, IL. As for the reason for playing, Jack had this to say “My high school Spanish teacher mentioned she played it and suggested that we try it. I thought to myself that it wouldn’t hurt to try it. Then my advisor got me in contact with the team captain of our high school team and the rest is history.” Here are a few more questions to better get to know Jack:

Jack Stimson

Nick Gadbaw

Starting center Nick “Kiwi” Gadbaw, but can play fly half when “Jack gets yellow carded”. Nick is originally from Iowa, but grew up in New Zealand where he started playing rugby at the age 4. He is majoring in Industrial Design but we are all pretty sure he just stays home and does arts and crafts. When he is not playing with crayons he can be found at home, in Camas, WA making t-shirts, such as our championship gear. His favorite rugby memory over the past 17 years came last week when we beat WWU to win the NCRC Championship. Here are some questions to better get to know Kiwi:

Nick Gadbaw

Riley Poulson

Riley Poulson is one of our flankers, from Kent, Washington. He is currently studying Math. Riley has 4 years of experience after the captain of his high school team chose to eat an whole orange, peel and all, in order to get Riley out to practice, and he has been hooked ever since. His favorite rugby memory so far has been winning the D1AA Varsity Cup his freshman year. Not only is Riley a very good rugby player, but he is also a amateur competitive eater.
