What a year!
After a shortened season in Spring 2020, the team continued with virtual meetings and an S&C program through the summer, which increased in frequency and intensity in the Fall/Winter to include:
We have learned a lot and will be better equipped to leverage technology moving forward, and the players are chomping at the bit to get back on the field!
Spring quarter we will continue to stay in shape, build strength, and increase our rugby IQs. Looking forward to the 2021 Fall Season!
Ryan played for Husky Rugby Club from 1999-2002 before enlisting in the Navy. He was blinded in combat in 2006. After the Navy, Ryan continued to persevere through his disability as the National Spokesman for Camp Patriot, summited Mt Rainier, and completed a college degree, all while completely blind.

It couldn't have been a more successful kickoff to the 2019-2020 season than to work with the Seattle Seawolves and Saracens. With representatives from South Africa, NZ, Fiji, Samoa, and USA, the guest coaching was top level and has instilled confidence in our young and largely inexperienced athletes. We hope that our partnership with the Seawolves continues to strengthen in the coming years. Thanks for a fantastic fall program!!!
Our final combined session with the women and Seattle Seawolves guest coaches.
Kellen Gordon of Seattle Seawolves tests Squanto's form.

With such a strong underclassmen group of players, we look to the relitively light upperclassmen group to pass the Kong next year in a big way. A huge thanks from coaches to the players for rising to the challenges presented!
Petaia "Ili" Ma’aveave, Center – his game sense and intensity make him a threat on attack and defense. Ili was chosen for the NCRC All-Tournament 7’s team. As a graduating senior next year, we anticipate it being Ili’s best season yet.
Freshman Props Jakob “Squanto” Mathisen and Will “Salad” Fulton. As anyone in 15’s rugby knows, securing two powerful front rows is critical to a team’s success. These two skilled athletes have the strength and ball handling to excel beyond being the cornerposts of the team.
Freshman Jacob Pati, Center, played high school rugby for Budd Bay, WA., and has been an absolute force this year attacking the line and setting the pace of the game. Keep an eye on this athlete!
Freshman Thomas Janicki, Flanker, was looking for someone to hit after football – He found rugby. His work rate, explosive speed, ability to learn the sport, and positive character are second to none!
