Alumni Weekend Recap: A Strong Showing for Husky Rugby
2026 Alumni Weekend was a great success thanks to the Husky Rugby community!

Husky Rugby Alumni Weekend brought together alumni, families, players, and supporters for a full weekend of competition, connection, and community. From Friday night lights to Saturday’s Purple & Gold Dinner, the weekend was a strong reflection of what makes this program special.
Friday Night: Curtain Raiser Doubleheader
The weekend kicked off at Starfire Sports with the Curtain Raiser Doubleheader. The Huskies took on Central Washington in a competitive and hard-fought match, ultimately falling just short with a final score of UW 36 – CWU 42. The energy carried into the evening as the Seattle Seawolves faced the Chicago Hounds, with the Hounds coming away with a 59–22 win.

While the results didn’t fall in favor of the home sides, the atmosphere, turnout, and support from the Husky Rugby community set the tone for the weekend ahead.

Saturday Night: Purple & Gold Delivers
Saturday’s Purple & Gold Fundraiser Dinner was the highlight of the weekend and a major success for the program. With a fundraising goal of $80,000, the Husky Rugby community showed up in a big way by surpassing expectations and raising $83,000.
The event featured a strong turnout, lively auctions, and an incredible sense of community throughout the night. Every dollar raised goes directly toward supporting player costs, travel, scholarships, and the continued growth of the program.
A Weekend Built on Community
Alumni Weekend continues to be one of the most important traditions for Husky Rugby, bringing together generations of players and supporters around a shared commitment to the program. The strong turnout across events and the success of the fundraiser highlight the impact of a connected and engaged community.
Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, donated, and helped make the weekend a success.
