Helpful Tips When Applying

Academic Expectations

A minimum 3.0 GPA is recommended to stay competitive. Strong academics are central to success at UW and reflect your readiness for college-level work.

Personal Story & Fit

Rugby isn’t part of admissions, but it can still strengthen your story. If it’s shaped your character or leadership, include it in your personal essay to show why UW is the right fit for you.

Strategic Major Selection

Some UW majors are highly competitive. Strengthen your application by also considering open or minimum-requirement majors as alternative pathways.

Scholarships & Financial Aid

At Husky Rugby, we believe that cost should never be a barrier to opportunity. We proudly offer scholarship support to future UW Rugby players, helping make the dream of playing competitive collegiate rugby at a world-class university more accessible.

In addition to team-based support, the University of Washington offers a wide range of financial aid options — including grants, loans, work-study programs, and campus-wide scholarships — across all three campuses (Seattle, Tacoma, and Bothell). Students from all economic backgrounds are encouraged to apply, and we’re here to help you navigate the resources available. For Helpful links, can you take out the extra space between the title and the links?
