Announcing New Team Leadership
We're excited to announce the student leadership team that will lead UW Rugby through the 2026–2027 season.

Leading the squad is Team Captain Thomas Williams, a junior from New Zealand whose resilience and selflessness exemplify our club's values. After a broken ankle sidelined him for much of last season, Thomas remained a constant presence, mentoring teammates and serving as a kit manager. He capped his return with three tries against Central Washington in our Starfire exhibition.Stepping into the role of Club President is Jack Efrusy, whose relentless work ethic has defined his time at UW Rugby. After overcoming injuries and serving as Vice President, Jack now leads the club with the same determination that has made him a respected leader on and off the field. We're also introducing a new position this year, with Gabriel Palomo serving as our first School Liaison. Working with the Director of Rugby, Head Coach, and alumni, Gabriel will strengthen relationships with university administration and campus partners while helping advance the club's long-term growth. Finally, rugby teaches that "leaders sweep the sheds." Our Kit Managers—Shunsuke Nakatani, Joey Cavatoni, Rylan Reinebach, and Maxime Cauchi—embody that philosophy. First to arrive and last to leave, they keep the team running behind the scenes while developing the habits of service and leadership that define UW Rugby.
