Inside the Den # 3 – Game Day Preview Apple Cup
October 4th sees the University of Washington Husky Rugby travel away to Washington State University to compete for the Apple Cup!
This fixture is one that the Huskies have a proud history competing in. New Head Coach, Ray Keane, is aware of past performances and is embracing the opportunity the NCRC league opener for the 2026/ 2027 season brings, "it’s a real opportunity for this group to hit the ground running" said Keane, Having had only a short time together to prepare given the academic year only commenced this week, Keane gave credit to his players, "I've been particularly impressed with the way the players have embraced the style of play and culture the Coaching Staff are committed to delivering. We know the pressures and expectations that the Apple Cup brings, but the players are focused on our processes and worked hard" Keane continued. "We have prepared well in a short window; I am looking forward to what the team can deliver. We have selected a side that we believe can play to their potential with the open style we are chasing. Speed, accuracy & discipline are the key tenets we are looking to deliver”
