This weekend the Huskies will host Oregon State University. The Beavers have emerged as a strong program in recent years, with talented players from Spain and Australia. They were undefeated until last weekend's loss to Western Washington University, having previously defeated Oregon.
The Dawgs are determined to learn from their close match against Oregon and improve in key areas. There have been a number of areas of focus this week, especially in the breakdown: In attack, ball placement, ruck arrival, removing the jackal threat, surviving the counterruck, and generating quick ball for the next phase. In defense, our focus has been slowing down their rucks through dominant double tackles, choke tackles, poach, and counterruck. Our defensive turnovers have been low and this is an aspect we expect to improve significantly tomorrow. Plan to see a similar mindset, fighting not to "win the game", but to win "the next collision", "the next five minutes", and win the ball back.
Join us for our last game of the quarter, at home! Kickoff at 1pm for the 1st XV, and 2nd XV to follow.
