The Husky Rugby Alumni Association is proud to welcome Scott Ward to its Board of Directors as our newest board member and Student Leadership Mentor.Scott has been part of the UW Rugby community for more than 32 years—as a player, coach, and lifelong supporter. His deep connection to the club, combined with his professional experience in technology, organizational leadership, and strategic planning, makes him a great addition to the Board.In his role as Student Leadership Mentor, Scott will work directly with the club’s student leadership team each year to establish annual goals, develop budgets, identify opportunities for growth, and create a plan to further strengthen UW Rugby’s relationship and standing within the University of Washington.

“As a player, coach, and fan, UW rugby has been a part of my life for 32 years. I look forward to the opportunity to work with club leadership and contribute to the club's success on and off the field.”

The goal of the Student Leadership Mentor role is to provide continuity, guidance, and mentorship while keeping the program firmly student-led. Scott will serve as a resource and sounding board for each year's leadership team, helping students turn their ideas into actionable plans and build on the progress of those who came before them.This role reflects the Alumni Association’s commitment to developing not only successful rugby players, but also strong student leaders who can help build a stronger and more sustainable program for the future.We are excited to welcome Scott to the Board and look forward to the impact he will have on the next generation of Husky Rugby leaders.
