4) UW | 15 pts
5) UO | 10 pts
What we're competing for: Pride, and a possible at-large bid to nationals!
Sitting behind OSU whom we've beaten twice is uncomfortable. Further, UO ranked 5th is the only team to have beaten the #1 ranked WWU—both situations are a testament to this year being one of NCRC's most competitive yet!
Schedules for OSU and UO are both complete, so their tournament points are fixed at 16 and 10. If we lose to BSU and no points are earned, we remain at 4th. If we lose and earn a bonus point, we would each have 16, but OSU has a stronger points differential so we'd remain in 4th - if we lose, it must be within 7 points AND we must score 4 tries or more to put us at 17 pts, ahead of OSU and 3rd in conference.
BSU has two remaining matches: UW, and also WWU (final game of the conference). If we beat Boise, we automatically move to 3rd. If we earn a bonus point in our win, we have 20 pts and move to 2nd ahead of BSU, but only if they earn ZERO losing bonus points against UW and WWU.
So with 2 games left, a lot can happen. This is a situation our current players have never been in - understanding that EVERY POINT MATTERS, is a strong message to carry through to next season. After reviewing our film against BSU, a loss of 17-45, we all agree we are a much stronger team than 4 months ago, and the Dawgs are hungry for this win!
