Match Recap: Trinity Western University
Despite the scoreline, our game against TWU was a great marker of progress and valuable in our continued development.

Despite the scoreline, our game against Trinity Western University was a great marker of progress and valuable in our continued development.
It was only last year that we headed to Langley to be beaten ~115-0. (They stopped counting on the scoreboard at 87-0.) Our two home games since have been closer, but the balance of a couple starters unable to travel and TWU starting a few of their first-side seniors got them off to a 14-0 lead after 10 minutes. We rebutted 5 minutes later with our only unconverted try of the game.
A point of pride was Dawg's determination throughout 80 minutes of a game where we were chasing the lead the whole time. A try just before the half at 40 minutes and a try at the 80-minute mark demonstrated that grit and desire.
Our major work-ons were exiting our 22, attacking on the edge, and kick coverage. This is where 3 of TWU's tries were scored because the decision to exit didn't come quickly enough.
The second half gave them a big wind advantage, and their flyhalf pulled off 2 impressive 50-22 kicks because our coverage was out of position. This is a great lesson, as our final conference opponent is Boise State, who has a similarly dominant kicker at 10.
The players are in exams this week. One fitness session Wednesday will mark the end of the quarter, where we'll set goals and expectations for staying fit over Spring break so we can finish the season strong. Next up, BSU at HOME on April 5th, Kickoff at 1:00pm.
Try scorers: Brian Cain Jr., 2 tries (SR, Hooker), Halen Moeck (FR, Flanker), Josef "Pepi" Dostal (JR, Outside Center)
Conversions: Sebastian Sosa, 3/4
Man of the Match:
Backs: Josef "Pepi" Dostal, Poached the ball 5 times.
Forwards: Brian Cain Jr.
