Match Recap: UW at Puget Sound

Saturday the Dawgs travelled to Tacoma for a small round robin with University of Puget Sound. We took two teams where some players got their first taste of sevens rugby.
Lots of promise from the UW players, where they defended ferociously, and kept the ball alive with great offloading in attack. The first game with a mixed UW team vs UPS resulted in a tie of two tries each. The UW v UW game also resulted in a tie. The third game, with the second mixed UW team vs UPS was a resounding win, 3 tries to UW and one for UPS. Our fourth and final game, the strongest Dawgs took the field against the strongest lineup for UPS. As fatigue set in, one of our strongest players was red-carded for a high tackle in the first half. A second player received a yellow near the end of the game. Despite finishing 5 v 7, UW managed to keep most of the possession and only allow one try. Lessons learned and a good kick off to our short 7's season.
SCORES:
UW1 (14) - UPS (14)
UW1 (14) - UW2 (14)
UW2 (21) - UPS (7)
UW A-side (21) - UPS (7)
